Waiting

On Wednesday our daughter had an MRI, as a result of a seizure a week ago today. The honey and I were so blessed to have a dear friend of ours watch the boys, so that we could both be with her for the procedure. She was set to have the MRI at 9:30am, but she didn't actually go in until nearly 11am because of another procedure ahead of her taking longer. Needless to say, she was upset, hungry, and confused by the time it came for her to get her sedation IV, which was an awesome start to getting stuck :) That part was rough on her. I was surprised how long we were able to distract her, thanks to toys, coloring, Disney channel, and Netflix. Thank the Lord for electronics. Really. Despite the last hour or so of fussiness, we had an incredible experience, as always, with our nurses and the staff. They took such gentle care of our daughter and treated her just like she was their own. When our nurse wheeled her out, after the MRI, and she was just beginning to wake up, the nurse was patting her little bottom to calm her, just like I do. It made me feel good. She was a little out of it for the rest of the day. It was kind of funny.

We still haven't heard from the neurologist about the results, but they said it should be today. We will be sure to keep you posted. Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement during this time. We really appreciate it!

Dining table

My friend Brittany asked me to transform a dining table that was given to her. Free! Don't you love free furniture? I find it's extra special when it's free :)

Her family of five is about to move. They are selling their current dining table and was looking for more of a farmhouse-style table for their new home.

Here is a picture of their current dining table. You'll see that this is a totally different step for them. An exciting one it is!

I am so honored to have been able to paint the table where so many wonderful family memories will be made...stories shared...a table where three little brothers will grow up around. I love it!

Here are a few pictures of the transformation process...You can't tell from the picture, but this table was covered in glitter and stickers :)

Distressed, waiting for a nice, clear coat of wax.

And here it is complete. What a beauty she is.

I encouraged Brittany to write each of the boys names in sharpie underneath the table where they will sit. Each boy is sure to make their "mark" in their very spot with sweet little rub marks. I need to do this :)

Thanks, Brittany! This was a fun project for me.

Grateful.

Late, yesterday morning, our sweet baby had a seizure. I had no idea what was happening, until after it was over. It was one of the scariest things...They admitted her to the hospital, gave her an EEG, which came back fine- thank the Lord! Two hours after the incident, she was in good spirits and acting like herself. They discharged her yesterday evening. We were so grateful. She will have a sedated MRI on Wednesday morning. Hopefully, we'll know more by then. If we don't, then that means it was, more than likely, an isolated seizure. Apparently, we're all allowed a freebie.

Please keep our daughter in your prayers. We'll be taking it easy this weekend and holding all three of ours close.

Chest

I've had this little gem for quite a while. I saw a man pulling it out of his car at the Goodwill and I hopped out of my van and begged him to sell it to me- he declined. So, I just waited until he left and then quoted Goodwill a fair price and it was mine. Score!

It was a maple color, which is probably my least of all favorite wood colors. I try to paint all maple.

I'm a huge fan of Miss Mustard Seed's lucketts green paint, but I just hadn't found the right piece to use it on until this. Isn't it just perfect?

We have a tiny kitchen, so the drawers house all my measuring spoons, utensils, serving pieces, and extras that just won't fit anywhere else. I love it. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to part with it.
